Dr. Suman Prasad Maurya

Vice President, PRSARD Trust, Malhani, Bhatpar Rani, Deoria, U.P.

Dr. Suman Prasad Maurya, with over 38 years of experience in academia and administration, currently serves as the Honorary Trustee and Vice Chairperson of PRSARD Trust. She is also a Professor and Head of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the College of Community Science, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya, U.P. Dr. Maurya completed her M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Human Development from the Sri Avinashilingam Institute of Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore. She holds a Postgraduate Degree in Home Science from the same institution (Deemed University) and completed her undergraduate studies from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, Haryana, in 1984. Her career spans prestigious positions, including roles at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, and Acharya Narendra Deva University, where she has made significant contributions to Human Development, Family Studies, and Home Science education.

Vision

Organization of farmers and villagers for their continuous increase in the income by making proper modern marketing arrangement for value addition of high production producers by adopting latest technologies, quality technical knowledge in low cost, necessary cooperation in agricultural investment system.

Mission

To promote economically and socially backward farmers/villagers. To cooperate in providing quality agricultural inputs, latest techniques, financial resources etc. facilities to the farmers at reasonable prices by various institutions. To make Farmer Producer Organization financially and technically capable so that they become self-reliant and continue to edit their business activities smoothly with their own resources. Promotion of agricultural production system to check degradation of natural resources (land, water bio-diversity) in rural environment and their management through technological and social interventions. Demonstration of technology at selected places to make the rural group aware of modern industrial development.

Dr. Maurya’s distinguished career has earned her 15 awards, fellowships, and scholarships, recognizing her efforts in education, research, and community development. These accolades underscore her dedication to advancing knowledge and empowering communities through her work in Human Development.

Dr. Maurya has successfully guided 21 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in their research. She has authored over 110 publications, including:

  • Research articles
  • Books and book chapters
  • Practical manuals
  • Creative writing

Her research has contributed significantly to the development of Human Development and Family Studies, both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Maurya has held multiple leadership roles, such as:

Additionally, she has actively contributed as a member of:
